Hello everyone. In this blog I will be discussing all the BO4 perks, discussing how useful they are as individuals and with their modifiers and then ranking them. Scroll to bottom for quick summary.
Overall, the idea to remove perks like Jug and Speed was a poor decision because in doing so they’ve created more crutch perks and left the majority relatively useless in comparison.

Deadshot Dealer
Usefulness: Useless
This new version of Deadshot Daqiri is just as useless as its former. Buffs to aiming and accuracy aren’t important in zombies, and the modifier becomes useless as all guns drop off in higher rounds.
12th
Death Perception
Usefulness: Useless
This perk let’s you see an vision pulse of zombies and gives you an indicator from where they come from which is pretty useless because you either know they spawn there or can’t react fast enough to avoid them anyway. The modifier is okay for dealing with bosses but can’t compare to some other modifiers.
11th
Electric Burst
Usefulness: Hardly useful
Electric burst will kill a couple of zombies when you reload, however it only ever defects a few zombies so if you’re facing a horde it won’t save you and after a certain round it only knocks zombies over.
10th
PhD Slider
Usefulness: Hardly useful
When you slide you will create an effect that kills up to about 10 zombies. The problem is it takes so long to charge that it’s not worth the perk slot. The resistance to explosives is good but they already barely damage you in BO4 so isn’t needed.
9th
Stone Cold Stronghold
Usefulness: Not very useful
From this point and beyond the perks are at least usable I would say. For stronghold, it’s good for camping but in the long term isn’t useful as the damage buff doesn’t affect high health zombies and armour isn’t needed as you’re not getting hit.
8th
Mule Kick
Not very useful
Mule kick is a classic perk that remains quite like it’s always been. It’s good, but most strategies don’t need more than 2 guns. It made sense to have it on BO3 for more PaP abilities, but as they’re useless in BO4 you never need more than a wonder weapon and a secondary so it isn’t great.
7th
Winter’s Wail
Usefulness: Useful
Whilst extremely weak when compared to widows wine, this perk is still quite useful as it has the same effect, the only difference is that you can’t use it as much and it won’t stop an entire horde from killing you so isn’t as important as widows was.
6th
Timeslip
Usefulness: Useful
This perk is very useful for high rounds as you get your specialist back, recharge traps and gain more grenades at an increased rate. It’s also quite convenient in spending up box pulls and such so is worth its price.
5th
Bandolier Bandit
Usefulness: Very Useful
This perk literally gives you more ammo so is definitely helpful in any map. You can go without it but if you have a spare perk slot is a very good idea because it can make a boss fight easier or speed up high rounds by letting you use your wonder weapon more.
4th
Quick Revive
Usefulness: Very Useful
Quick Revive isn’t crutch like it was in solo in previous games, however is still extremely useful as it regenerates your health so much faster than it normally would without this perk. As zombies hit you really quickly it’s quite important to have this when training.
3rd
Dying Wish
Usefulness: Crutch
This is a must have perk on solo, as it means you can down without using a revive. As there’s no elixir way of getting more revives in solo you need to have this if you’re going into a boss fight or high rounds.
2nd
Stamin-Up
Usefulness: Crutch
This is a very important perk because you run extremely slowly on BO4 and zombies hit you so fast. With the sprinting speed boost you can train effectively. I’d also consider it the best modifier in the game as you have permanent sprint and can shoot whilst sprinting meaning you can train and get around the map so much easier.
1st
Victorious Tortoise
Usefulness: Crutch
This has got to be the best perk in the game because when you have the shield you are literally invincible whilst it lasts. Get stuck and whip out your shield and it will explode allowing you to escape. If you train near a shield spot you can effectively be invincible.
The perk I didn’t mention...

Secret Sauce
Does Smj Improve Overall Dmg In Bo4 History
Usefulness: Very useful
I didn’t consider this as a perk because it gives you a random perk. It is more of a strategy, and a good one, because it means you can replace your perks throughout the game according to your play style. For example you can choose camping perks for rounds 1-30 but then you start training at 30+ and can buy all new perks, same with a boss fight you may want to bring in Bandolier and Death Perception etc. so secret sauce is actually very useful!
Thanks
That completes my list. Like I said, I would basically never play without the 3 perks I listed as crutch, which means I only have 1 free slot and there’s only about 2 perks id actually consider using for that. So lots of these perks need to be seriously buffed.
